Compared with VWCE it has no emerging markets, so it puts somewhat more weight on the United States. Compared with XDWD it tracks exactly the same index, with a different issuer and a slightly higher TER. Investors who want emerging markets alongside IWDA usually add a separate emerging-markets ETF.

Frequently asked questions

Does IWDA include emerging markets?

No. The MSCI World only includes developed countries. Indices such as the MSCI ACWI (IUSQ) or the FTSE All-World (VWCE) also cover emerging markets.

How much of IWDA is in the United States?

Around 70% of the index, because the MSCI World is weighted by market capitalisation and the world's largest companies are American.

Is IWDA in the LearnAImarkets model?

No. The model covers developed equities with ETFs such as SXR8 (US) and IMEU (Europe), which it can weight differently each month.
